NYS Tribute Foundation Creates Disaster Relief Fund in Response to COVID-19
The New York State Tribute Foundation, with its tradition of “charity, knowledge and education” in support of funeral service, has established a Disaster Relief Fund in the wake of the unprecedented number of lives lost from COVID-19 in New York. Our thoughts and prayers are with those families who have lost a loved one due to the pandemic.
The downstate region of New York has been hit hardest, resulting in immense stress on the entire system, including the crematories which, despite working around the clock, are now scheduling cremations 4-5 weeks out. In order to help decompress this stress, funeral directors from across New York are offering to transport decedents to crematories in upstate New York and neighboring states that have the capacity to help.
Support your neighbors. All funeral directors, funeral service suppliers and others affiliated with funeral service across the nation are encouraged to donate to this fund. 100% of all donated funds will be directed to help offset the transportation costs borne by those providing this service and, in turn, avoid any additional expense to families.
Donations were accepted through May 31, 2020.
New York State Tribute Foundation is a tax exempt 501(c)(3) organization. Individual contributions are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.
All contributors will be recognized as part of the Tribute Foundation’s donor recognition program.
